Background

Frédéric Kuznik

Frédéric Kuznik, founder of KF Consulting

Distinguished full professor at INSA Lyon and researcher at the Centre for Energy and Thermal Sciences of Lyon (CETHIL, UMR 5008 CNRS), I have devoted my career to building energy and thermal energy storage, from materials through to their integration into energy systems.

I headed CETHIL (120 staff) from 2018 to 2022 and, for ten years, the joint EDF-CETHIL laboratory on high energy efficiency buildings. My time at Lafarge as a senior researcher and project manager gave me first-hand knowledge of what industrial R&D demands. I represent France on the executive committee of the International Energy Agency programme on energy storage.

I act as an expert for the European Commission (EIC, ERC) and for many international funding agencies, and I have been reviewing R&D tax credit claims for the French Ministry of Research for 15 years.
